Fusion DictateEMR

Dictate to the EMR with Fusion DictateEMR

Not all aspects of the care can be documented in tiny boxes that are presented by the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Often, a narrative of the encounter is required to capture the complete picture of patient story.  When a physician needs to dictate a narrative, speech recognition is useful, but not all physicians and EMR applications can adapt to speech recognition technology. If speech recognition isn’t an option, Fusion DictateEMR™ can incorporate the simplicity of dictation and transcription into the physician’s EMR routine.

Easy-to-Use for Everyone

The Fusion DictateEMR software combines with the specialty of the Philip’s SpeechMike to create a powerful recording tool that indexes the dictated information to the specific EMR dialogue box to which it pertains.  Simply click in a narrative box of the EMR and push the record button on the microphone. Simultaneous to recording the physician’s dictation, Fusion DictateEMR inserts a custom message along with a unique Fusion DictateEMR ID.  The Fusion DictateEMR ID serve as a place holder to be replaced later in transcription by the transcribed text.

Transcription’s Role

Dictated Fusion DictateEMR notes are automatically prioritized for the medical language specialist in transcription.  If the EMR provides a text search feature, transcription can quickly find the narrative box with the Fusion DictateEMR ID to transcribe the recording.  If the EMR does not provide a search feature, the Fusion system will capture the transcribed text, offering spell and grammar check, and interface the note to the EMR.
