Dolbey Announces 100th Year Anniversary

Dolbey and Company, Inc., which began as a partner and dealer for Thomas A. Edison’s dictation machine company, proudly announces the anniversary of its 100th year in business.

In 1914, John Dolbey and Thomas A. Edison shook hands on a dictation machine franchise, and ever since, Dolbey has been a leader in dictation and document management systems. Jerry Dolbey, President & CEO of Dolbey and Company, Inc. states, “Over the past 100 years, technology and our customers’ needs have changed, and the pace of that change continues to accelerate. We strive to anticipate these rapid changes and, though the products we develop today differ dramatically from those we offered originally, we have always held true to our goal of delivering the best, most technologically superior products and service to our customers.”

Dolbey’s voice recording history began with marketing Edison’s wax cylinder dictation machine, progressing to Sony analog dictation and word processing, to Sony digital recording devices, and to RTAS and DVI digital dictation solutions. In 1984, Dolbey joined the forefront of the medical transcription industry, developing its own transcription software, STAT Report®. Dolbey released a Windows-based Stat Report Maxima product in 1997, and now offers the entire Fusion Suite™ of healthcare voice and document management systems, including Fusion Text® and Fusion Voice®. Today, Dolbey remains on the cutting edge of the clinical documentation industry, with its award-winning solutions for speech recognition and computer-assisted coding, including Fusion Speech®, Fusion Expert®, Fusion SpeechEMR®, and Fusion CAC™.

Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dolbey and Company, Inc. has been owned and operated by the Dolbey family since its inception. It currently has over 100 employees with multiple locations including California, Florida, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas, as well as a national dealer network. Dolbey supports its customer base, which includes some of the nation’s most premier medical facilities, with a dedicated support team located entirely in the United States, a unique advantage in today’s clinical documentation industry.
